Answer:

Before hand knowledge:

a. Surface area of a cuboid = 2(lb+bh+lh) , l= length of cuboid,

b= breadth of cuboid

h= height of cuboid

b. 1cm = 100 mm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Converting the dimensions in cm, we have, 0.6cm×0.4cm×0.2cm

To find the area of cardboard needed, you'd have to find out the surface area of the matchbox. Since the matchbox is a cuboidal shape, its surface area will be 2(lb + bh + lh) , where l,b,h stands for length , breadth and height of the match box respectively.

From the given data (i. e. 0.6cm, 0.4cn, you can consider any one to be length , breadth and height) ,

Surface area = 2(0.6×0.4 + 0.4×0.2 + 0.6×0.2) = 2×0.44(cm^2) = 0.88(cm^2).

So total area of cardboard required is 0.88 cm^2 .
