The dimensions of a rectangular box are in the ratio 2: 3: 4 and the difference between the cost
of covering it with sheet of paper at the rate of Rs 4 and Rs 4.50 per square metre is Rs 416. Find
the dimensions of the box.​

LET THE LENGTH, BREADTH AND HEIGHT OF RECTANGULAR BOX BE 2x ,3x AND 4x.

REQUIRED SHEET TO COVER THE BOX

= TOTAL SURFACE AREA OF BOX

= 2(lb+bh+hl)

= 2 (2x*3x+3x*4x+4x*2x)

= 2(6x^2+12x^2+8x^2)

= 2(26x^2)

= 52x^2
