The dimensions of the walls of the room are given as :

• Length = 8 m .

• Breadth = 6 m .

• Height = 5 m .

We need to find the cost to distemper all the 4 walls .

So , we need to find the surface area which is to be distempeted .

This is equal to the Curved Surface area of outer surface area of the walls .

Which is ( Perimeter × Height )

=> 2( l + b ) × h

Substituting the given values :

=> 2 ( 8 + 6 ) × 5

=> 14 × 10

=> 140 square metres.

The cost of distempeting is @ Rs.80 per square metre .

Thus , the total cost comes out to be -

=> Rs. 80 × 140

=> Rs. 11200 .
