Given :

  • Length of the room = 8 m
  • Breadth of the room = 6 m
  • Height of the room = 5 m
  • Rate of ditempering the wall = ₹ 80

To find :

  • Cost of distempering it's four walls at the rate of ₹ 80

Concept Used :

→ Formula to calculate area of four walls :-

  • Area of four walls = 2(l + b) × h

where,

  • l = length
  • b = breadth
  • h = height

To find the cost of distempering it's four walls :-

  • Firstly, find the area of the four walls.
  • Then multiply the area of four walls by the rate of distempering the resultant value will be the required answer.

Let's do it. →

⠀⠀⠀⠀━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Solution :

Area of four walls :-

⠀⠀⠀⇒ Area = 2(l + b) × h

⠀⠀⠀⇒ Area = 2(8 + 6) × 5

⠀⠀⠀⇒ Area = 2(14) × 5

⠀⠀⠀⇒ Area = 28 × 5

⠀⠀⠀⇒ Area = 140

Area of four walls = 140 m²

Cost of distempering the four walls = Area of four walls × Rate

⠀⠀⠀⇒ Cost = 140 × 80

⠀⠀⠀⇒ Cost = 11,200

Cost of distempering it's four walls at the rate of ₹ 80 = Rs. 11,200

Given :

  • Dimensions of a room are 8 m, 6 m and 5 m.

To Find :

  • Cost of distempering it's four walls at the rate of Rs. 80 per metre square.

Calculations :

Given that,

  • Dimensions of a room are 8 m, 6 m and 5 m.

Supposition:

Let us suppose the dimensions of a room as,

  • Length of the room = 8 m
  • Breadth of the room = 6 m
  • Height of the room = 5 m

So, firstly let's calculate the area of four walls in order to calculate the amount [cost] of distempering it's four walls.

~ Calculating the area of four walls,

For this, we need to use this formula :-

  • 2 × (l + b) × h

Where,

  • l = length = 8 m
  • b = breadth = 6 m
  • h = height = 5 m

Now, putting the values,

⇒ 2 × (l + b) × h

⇒ 2 × (8 + 6 m) × 5 m

⇒ 2 × 14 m × 5 m

⇒ 2 × (14 m × 5 m)

⇒ 2 × 70 m²

140

Hence,

  • The area of four walls is 140 .

According to the Question,

Now let us calculate the cost of distempering it's four walls at the rate of Rs. 80 per metre square.

For finding the amount of distempering the four walls, we need to perform multiplication in :-

  • Rate of rupees (Rs. 80) × Area of four walls (140 )

⇒ Rs. 80 × 140 m²

Rs. 11200

Henceforth,

  • Cost of distempering it's four walls at the rate of Rs. 80 per metre square is Rs. 11200.
