diagonal of cuboid = √l² + b² + h²

 =  \sqrt{ {8}^{2} +  {4}^{2}  +  {2}^{2}  }  \\  = \sqrt{64 + 16 + 4}  \\  =  \sqrt{84}  \\  = 2 \sqrt{21}

so, the length of the longest rod = 2√21 m.
