The dimensions of a wooden block are 2m× 0.25m× 0.10m. If the relative density of wood is 0.6, calculate the mass of the block in kg.

Relative Density is Density of substance / Density of water

0.6 = Density of substance / 1000

= 600 = Density of substance

Density = mass / volume

600 kg / m3 = Mass / (2 * 0.10 * 0.25) m3

600 kg / m3= Mass / 0.05 m3

600 * 0.05 = Mass

30 kg

Ans: 30 kg

Relative density means ratio of density of substance with respect to density of water at 4degree Celsius which is 1000kg/m^3

Density of substance = 1000*0.6 =600kg/m^3

Volume of wooden block = 2*0.25*0.10=0.05m^3

Mass of substance = density * volume

600*0.05=30kg
