The direction in which an object moves is given by the direction of velocity of the object and not by the direction. Give an example to justify this statement.

If a ball is thrown up, the direction of motion of the body is the same as the direction of its velocity whereas the acceleration due to the action of gravity on it in the downward direction. Thus, the direction in which an object moves is given by the direction of velocity and not by the direction of acceleration
