The Directive Principles of State Policy are consisted in part - IV of Indian Constitution.

These principles are enforced from Article 36 - 51.

Directive Principles of State Policy were adopted from the Irish Constitution.

Directive Principles of State Policy are the guidelines for good governance.

These principles are not enforced by any judiciary body but they are guidelines to follow.

For better understanding they are classified into socialist principles, Liberal intellectualistic principles and Gandhian principles.

Some of Gandhian principles were organizing panchayat raj system, welfare state, better wages etc.
