Explanation:

Given The displacement from mean position of a particle in SHM at 3 secs is root 3 by 2 of the amplitude. Its  time period will be

  • The position of particle from mean position from x = 0 after a time t is
  • x = a sin ωt
  • √3 / 2 a = a sin ωt
  • Sin ωt = √3 / 2
  • Sin ωt = sin π/3
  • So ωt = π/3
  • So 2π/t x 3 = π/3
  • 6/t = 1/3

Or t = 18 secs.

So time period will be 18 secs.
