the displacement of a moving object in a given interval of time is zero would the distance travelled by the object also be zero justify your answer

No distance wouldn't be 0....Because distance = TOTAL path length. For example, If a body moves in a straight line Marked as point A to B =30metre then if it Returns to A from B = 30metre then displacement = 0 and Distance=(30+30) metre =60 metre.
