average velocity of the particle is -1 m/s

we know, average velocity is the rate of change of displacement with respect to time.

i.e., V_{av}=\frac{x_f-x_i}{t_f-t_i}

we have to find average velocity of the particle between time t1 = 2sec and t2 = 4sec , v = {x(t = 4) - x(t = 2)}/(4 - 2)

= {0 - 2}/2

= -1

hence average velocity of the particle is -1 m/s
