Answer: Length = 113 m

Breadth = 87 m

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the breadth be x , so the length would be 26 + x

Perimeter = 400 m

Perimeter = 2(l+b)

= 2(l+b) = 400

= 2(26 + x + x ) = 400

= 2(26 + 2x) = 400

= 52 + 4x = 400

= 4x = 400 - 52

= 4x = 348

= x = 348 / 4

= x = 87 m

Therefore, the breadth will be 87 m and the length would be 113 m .

Hope it helps.

To find - Length and breadth

Given -

Perimeter = 400 m

Let Breadth of rectangular field be x metres.

So

ATQ

Length of rectangular field = (x + 26) metres

Formula Used - Perimeter of rectangle = 2(Length + Breadth)

Putting values in formula

400 = 2 [(x +26) + x]

⇒ 400 = 2 [2x + 26]

⇒ 400 = 4x + 52

⇒ 4x + 52 = 400

⇒ 4x = 400 - 52 = 348

⇒ x  = \frac{348}{4}

⇒ x = 87

Answer -

Breadth = 87 m

Length = 87 + 26 = 113m
