let the speed of the car starting from town A = x km/h
and the speed of the car starting from town B = x + 7 km/h
Distance covered by the car starting from town
A after 2h = speed × time
34 => x × 2
34 => 2x --------> (1)
Distance covered by the car starting from town
A after 2h = speed × time
34 => (x + 7) × 2
34 => 2x + 14 ---------> (2)
According to the question, the total distance = 300km
therefore,Adding equation (1) and (2) we get
2x + 2x + 14 + 34 = 300
=> 4x + 48 = 300
=> 4x = 300 - 48
=> 4x = 252
=> x = 252/4
=> x = 63
therefore,
speed of car starting from town A = x km/h = 63 km/h
speed of car starting from town A = x + 7 km/h = 63 + 7 km/h
= 70 km/h
