the distance between 40 crest and 40 trough is 80 cm find its wavelength and frequency if its velocity is 320 M per second

As Wavelength is the distance between tow consecutive compression or rarefraction.

Wavelength = 50 x 2 = 100 cm

 

Frequency of a wave is the number of waves produced in 1 second.

So, frequency = 20/0.2

f = 100 Hz

 

Frequency = 1/time period

T= 1/f 

T = 1/100 = 0.01 sec
