Answer:

total distance= 120+120 = 240 km

time taken to travel from A to B=

Distance/speed= 120÷60 = 2 hours

time taken to travel from B to A=

Distance/speed= 120÷40 = 3 hours

total time taken = 2+3 = 5 hours

average speed = total distance travelled/total time taken

= 240÷5

= 48 km
