Given:

  • The distance between parallel sides of a trapezium = 20 cm
  • The length of the line segment joining the mid- points of its non-parallel sides = 53 cm.

To Find:

  • Find the area of the trapezium = ?

Solution:

EF = {\dfrac{1}{2}{\times}}(AB + BC) = 20 cm

Formula to find the area of trapezium —

{\quad}{\boxed{\sf{area =  \frac{1}{2}  \times (ad + bc) \times h}}}

According to the question —

 \sf \implies \: area = 20 \times 53 \\  \\  \sf \implies \: area = 1060  {cm}^{2}

Hence,the area of the trapezium will be 1060{cm}^{2}
