distance formula= √(x₂ - x₁)² +( y₂ - y₁)²

Here x₁ = cosθ , x₂ =  , y₁ = 0 , y₂ = sin θ

substituting the values : D = √ (0 - cosθ )² + (sinθ - 0)²

D = √(-cosθ )² + (sinθ)²

D = √cos² + sin²θ

we know the trignometric identity : cos²θ + sin²θ = 1

so D = √1

DISTANCE =  1UNIT
