the distance between the object and its image formed by a plane mirror appears to be 24 cm what is the distance between mirror and the object

The distance between the mirror and the object is 12 cm.
This is because a plane mirror forms the image of the object as far as from the mirror as the object is from the mirror.
I.e. distance of the object from the mirror=distance of the image from the mirror .
