The distance between the points (1,0) & (0,1) is 2 unit

Given :

The points (1,0) & (0,1)

To find :

The distance between the points (1,0) & (0,1)

Concept :

For the given two points  \sf{A( x_1 , y_1) \:  \: and \:  \: B( x_2 , y_2)} the distance between the points

 =  \sf{ \sqrt{ {(x_2 -x_1 )}^{2}  + {(y_2 -y_1 )}^{2} } }

Solution :

Step 1 of 2 :

Write down the given points

The given points are (1,0) & (0,1)

Step 2 of 2 :

Find the distance

The required distance

 \sf =  \sqrt{ {(1 - 0)}^{2}  +  {(0 - 1)}^{2} }  \:  \: unit

 \sf =  \sqrt{ {(1 )}^{2}  +  {(- 1)}^{2} }  \:  \: unit

 \sf =  \sqrt{1 + 1}  \:  \: unit

 \sf =  \sqrt{2}  \:  \: unit
