Here Let A=(a,b) and B=(a,b)

Using distance formula we have:

 \bold{  AB => \sqrt{( {a - ( - a))^{2} }  + ( {b - b})^{2} }}

 \bold{ = AB =  >  \sqrt{ {(2a)}^{2}   + {(0)}^{2} }}

 \bold{  =  >AB = { ({ \sqrt{4a}}) }^2}

 \bold{ =  > AB =  {2a}^{2 \times  \frac{1}{2} }}

 \bold{ = >  AB = 2a}
