The distance between the two ports is 750 km. Two ships start simultaneously from these ports
towards each other. The speed of one ship is greater than the other ship by 30 km/ h. If the
distance between the two ships after 5 hours of their start is 80 km, find the speed of each
ship.

let X be the speed of one ship

y of second

X=y+30....(1)

distance traveled by one ship=x×5

distance traveled by second ship=y×5

5x+5y+80=750

5x+5y=670....(2)

5x+5y=670

+5x-5y=150

10x=520

X=52km/hr
