f= g*m1*m2/r^2

where r is the distance

initially

f= g*m1*m2/r^2

after doubling

F=g*m1*m2/R^2                       (R=2r)

F=g*m1*m2/(2r)^2

F=g*m1*m2/4r^2

F=f/4
