Given : The distance between two cities M and N is 252 km.

A cyclist starts from M and a person walks from N at the same time.

The speed of the cyclist is 20 times that of the person who walks

Two hours later, both of them meet at a place.

To Find  : how far is this place from the cities M and N.

Solution:

Let say speed of walk  = X km/hr

Speed of cyclist  = 20X km/hr

Distance = Speed x Time

Time = 2 hr

Distance covered by walk  from N  = 2X  km

Distance covered by cyclist  from M = 2 * 20X  = 40X  km

Total Distance covered = 2X + 40X = 42X  km

42X = 252

=> X = 6

Distance rom N  = 2* 6 = 12 km

Distance  from M = 40 * 6 = 240 km
