Given:

distance between two consecutive nails in the inner and outer square frames is 1.35cmAlice used 20 equidistant nails around the bigger frame

Find perimeter of the outer frame and the inner frame = ?

  • First calculate for the perimeter of outer frame

       (20 - 1) × 1.35

       =19 × 1.35

       =25.65

  • Calculate for the perimeter of inner frame

        (\frac{25.65}{4} -2\times1.35)\times4

each side of inner frame is 1.35 × 2=2.7

      =  (\frac{25.65}{4}-2.7 )\times4

      = (\frac{25.65-10.8}{4} )\times4

       = 25.65 - 10.8

       =14.85

25.65 - 14.85 =10.8

Hence the difference in the perimeter of the outer frame and the inner frame is 10.8
