The distance between two places A and B is 180 km by road and 120 km by air. An aeroplane takes 20 min to go from A to B whereas a deluxe bus starting at A takes 5 hr to reach B . Find the avg speed and avg velocity by both means of transport.

Let the speed of the aeroplane be x kmph.
Now we know v=s/t
Therefore, x=120*3/1 ( Because 20 minutes = 1 third of an hour)
So we get the speed of the aeroplane to be 360 kmph.
Similarly, the velocity v of the bus=180/5=36 kmph.
Now we know v=s/t
Therefore, x=120*3/1 ( Because 20 minutes = 1 third of an hour)
So we get the speed of the aeroplane to be 360 kmph.
