The distance between two places is 15 km . If the map scale is 1:500000, find the distance between the place in centimeters drawn in the map.

Answer:

1 cm shown on the map = 500000

= (500000/ 100 x 1000)km

15 cm in the map = 5 x 15 = 75 cm
