Let A and B two motorcyclists are seperated 230km apart.

Let speed of motorcyclist A is x km/h then speed of motorcyclist B is (x - 10) km/h

a/c to question,

both are moving in opposite directions. and after 3 hours, seperation between them = 20km.

so, distance travelled by A in 3 hours = 3x km

distance travelled by B in 3 hours = 3(x - 10)km

now, distance travelled by A + distance travelled by B + 20km = 230km

or, 3x + 3(x - 10) = 210

or, 6x = 240

or, x = 40

hence, speed of motorcyclist A = 40km/h

speed of motorcyclist A = 40km/hand speed of motorcyclist B = (40 - 10) = 30km/h
