The distance between two stations is 400 km. A train takes 5 hours to cover this distance. Calculate the speed of the train.​

Distance =240km

Time taken =4 hours

Speed= Distance covered /time taken =240km/4 hr

The given question can be solved very easily as shown below.

Given that,

The distance between 2 stations  = d = 400 km

Time taken to cover 400 km = t = 5 hours

We know that,

⇒ Speed = distance / time

Similarly, the speed of the train = distance traveled / time taken

⇒ The speed of the train = d/t = 400 / 5 = 80 kmph

Therefore the speed of the train is 80 kmph.
