unlike the longitudes,the distance between each successive latitudes remains same or constant,thats why they r also called parallels of latitudes.for example,the distance between 0° latitude(equator) and 1°N/S is 111km.The same happens when we take othher successive latitudes.refer the pic attached to this answer
