The required distance between the points is √5 units.
Given:

O=(0,0)

P=(2, 1)

To find:

The distance between O and P

Solution:

The required distance can be calculated by using the following formula-

The given coordinates are as follows-

O=(x1, y1)=(0, 0)

P=(x2, y2)=(2, 1)

The required distance=\sqrt{(x2-x1)^{2} +(y2-y1)^{2}}

Using the values,

=\sqrt{(2-0)^{2} +(1-0)^{2} }

=\sqrt{2^{2} +1^{2} }

=\sqrt{(4+1)}

=√5

So, the distance between O and P is √5 units.

Therefore, the required distance between the points is √5 units.
