Height = 60 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

  • Distance from where tower is observed is 60 feet.
  • Angle of elevation to the top of tower is 45°.

To Find:

  • What is the height of tower?

Solution: Let the height of tower be h feet and distance of observer from twoer's foot is 60 .

In right angled triangle ,we have

  • AB = h = ( Height of tower / Perpendicular )
  • BC = base = 60
  • ∠ABC = 90°
  • ∠ACB = 45° ( Angle of elevation )

Now, from ∆ABC ,we get

\implies{\rm } tan 45° = Perpendicular/Base

\implies{\rm } 1 = AB/BC

\implies{\rm } 1 = h/60

\implies{\rm } 60 = h

Hence, the height of tower is h = 60 feet. Option C is correct.
