This statement means that the person is return to its starting point.

Example :

1) If a straight is of 15 km and a person starts waking and goes back to its starting point. Then the distance covered is 15 km but displacement is 0 km.

2) Consider a circle of circumference 30 km. If a person starts from a point and return to it, then also the distance is 30 km but displacement is 0 km.
