Easy, there are 90 degrees of distance from the equator to the North Pole. Each degree has 60 minutes, each minute = 1 nautical mile, therefore 60 x 90 = 5,400 nautical miles. Angle between the equator and North Pole is 90°. 1 nautical mile = 1852 meters = 1'; 1° = 60'; just multiply 60 x 90 x 1852.

Hope it helps you
