The distance of the point (-4,3) from the origin is

GK17: √(-4-0)^2+(3-0)^2=√16+9=√25=5

Distance of any point from the origin according to the distance formula is,

Distance = √(y-0)^2+(x-0)^2 = √x^2+y^2

So, here,
Distance = √ (3)^2+(-4)^2 = √ 9+16 = √25 = 5 units

To find OA.
By Pythagoras theorem,
 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: OA =  \sqrt{ {4}^{2}  +  {3}^{2} } \\   =  > OA =  \sqrt{25} = 5units.

Hope this will help you.
