Given:

Point (-4,-6)

To Find:

Find the distance of the point (-4,-6)from the origin

Solution:

A = (x_1 , y_1)=(-4,-6)

Coordinates of Origin =(x_2,y_2)=(0,0)

Distance formula :d= \sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}

Substitute the values in the formula:

d= \sqrt{(0-(-4))^2+(0-(-6))^2}

d=7.2 cm

Hence The distance of the point (-4,-6)from the origin is 7.2 units
