Distance of the points P(6, - 8) from the origin d = √(x² + y²)

Here

P(6, - 8)

→ x = 6

→ y = - 8

Substituting the values

 \implies d =  \sqrt{ {6}^{2}  +  {( - 8)}^{2} }

 \implies d =  \sqrt{ 36  +  64 }

 \implies d =  \sqrt{100}

 \implies d =  10

Hence, distance of the point P (6,-8) from the origin is 10 units.
