Here it is given that,

The distance around a rectangle is 20cm.

So, we get Perimeter = 20 cm.

Length = 6cm , Breadth = ?

ANSWER :

We know in a rectangle there are two lengths and two breadths.

So,

=> Perimeter = 2×length + 2× breadth

=> 20 = 2 (l + b),

[ where l = length,b = breadth]

=> 10 = 6 + b

=> b = 4

So, we got breadth as 4 cm.

ANSWER = 4cm

Answer \: = >

Given ,

Length of the rectangle = 6cm

Breadth of the rectangle = ?

Perimeter of the rectangle = 20cm

As we know ,

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

[Substitute the values]

20=2(6+b)

20=12+2b

20-12=2b

8=2b

8/2=b

4=b

 \boxed{Therefore \: the \: value \: of \: b \: = \: 4cm}

Extra \: information \: = >

➡ A rectangle is a four sided closed figure with 4 right angles and two diagonals .

➡ Area of rectangle = l×b

➡ Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)
