the distance travelled by a boy From his home to school is 1 km to the east when he reaches back home he says that he had travelled 2km distance but his displacement is zero justify your answer

displacement is the shortest distance between two points and moreover it is a vector. as the boy has started for home and finally returned to home his initial and final points coincide thus his displacement becomes zero whereas distance traveled by him is 2km as distance is not a vector
