Answer:

The minimum and maximum possible speed of the object in m/s speed will be 27 m/sec.

Step-by-step explanation:

From the above question,

The distance travelled by an object is 18 metres in a time of 1.8 seconds. Both measurements have been given correct to 2 significant figures.

Here in this question two different time intervals are given so we have to find average speed of this motion,

So, firstly

In 1st Part of journey

Distance = 18m

Time taken = 4 second

So speed(S),

                S = Distance/time

                    = 18/4 m/s

Here we need to calculate the minimum and maximum possible speed of the object in m/s:

In second part of the journey

Distance = 18 m

Time taken = 2 second

so,

        Speed = 18/2 m/s

                    = 9 m/s

Now,

Avg speed = { speed of the first journey + speed of the 2nd jorney }/2

                    = {18/4 + 9}/2 m/s

                    = {(18+36)/4}/2 m/s

                    = 54/2 m/s

                    = 27 m/s

so speed will be 27 m/sec.
