The distance travelled downstream by a boat in 4 hours is 16km more than the distance travelled
upstream by the boat in the same time. What is the speed of the current ? (in kmph)​

Let say speed of boat = B km/hr

Speed of Current = C km /hr

Speed of boat downstream = B + C km/hr

Speed of boat upstream = B - C km/Hr

Distance covered in 4 hrs downstream = 4B + 4C

Distance covered in 4 hrs upstream = 4B - 4C

4B + 4C = 4B - 4C  + 16

=> 8C = 16

=> C = 2

Speed of current = 2 km/hr
