The division of Power between States and Central Government is done through the following lists -

• Union list - Only The Government of India is allowed to take decision on this list. It includes Defence, Education, etc.

• State list - The State Government take decision of this list. It includes Agriculture, Water supply , etc.

• Concurrent list - Both the Central and State Government together make decisions of this list. It includes adoption, divorce, etc.
