Reason:-
variation is useful for survival of the species not for the individual because some time for the species the environmental conditions change so drastically that their survival become difficult if all the organism of a population living in a particular Habitat then there is a danger that all of them will die only few variants which are resistance of these drastic changes would be able to survive so that there is no variant that the species of the organism would been destroyed.
