Duke, after coming back jumped on hooper and he saw that hooper was fighting for his balance. after this he realised that his jump made hooper hurt and therefore he never again jumped on hooper. he sat besides hoppers bed round the clock.

When Chuck came from hospital then the duke jumped on chuck but after that day he knew instantly that his master is not well. And from that day he took a post beside his masters bed and used to encourage him to walk.
