The driver of a car traveling at 36 km/h applies the brakes to decelerate
the car uniformly. It stops in 10 seconds. Plot the speed-time graph for this
period. Find the distance traveled by car during this period by
calculating the area under the graph.

ANSWER

36 km/hr=10 m/sec

final velocity is zero so...

now.....0=10-a(10)

a=1 m/s^2

distance=10(10)-0.5(1)(10)^2=100-50=50 metre

calculating area

=(0.5)×base ×height=0.5×10×10=50 metre
