Given : The earnings of a hawker for three days were 175,  200,  225 respectively.

the earnings of the hawker follows the same pattern,

To Find : his earning on 7th day

(a) 305

(b) 330

(c) 325

(d) 360

(ii) On which day the hawker will earn 450?

(a) 8th day

(b) 12th day

(c) 11th day

(d) 15th day

Solution :

175,  200,  225

a = 175

d = 25

earning on 7th day = 175 + (7 - 1)25

= 175 + 6(25)

= 175 + 150

= 325

earning on 7th day =  325

hawker will earn 450

=> 450  = 175 + (n - 1)25

=> 18 = 7 + (n - 1)

=> 11 = n - 1

=> n = 12

12th day the hawker will earn 450
