The earth and the moon are attracted to each other by
gravitational force. Does the earth attract the moon with a
force that is greater or smaller or the same as the force
with which the moon attracts the earth? Why?

★According to universal law of gravitation and Newton third law, we know that the force of attractionbetween two objects is same but in opposite direction.

★Thus the earth attracts the moon with the same forceas the moon exerts on earth but in opposite directions.

Answer:

=> In gravitational force earth and moon are attract with each other and but there masses are different so earth pull the moon but they have same gravitational force between them.

=> Remeber the discovery of Newton's gravitational force apple fall on the ground, here mass of apple is less than earth's mass so earth attract the apple. => Means in the gravitational force between two object varies there masses.

Formula :-

Gravitational force (F) = G•m1•m2/R²

Where, G – Universal gravitational constant

m1 – mass of body 1

m2 – mass of body 2

R – Radius of Earth
