Answer:

Explanation:

The Earth attracts an apple and so does the apple attracts the earth with an equal and opposite force. Mass of the Earth is extremely massive as compared to that of the moon. So, the acceleration produced is very small as compared to that in the apple. Hence, the motion of the earth towards the apple is not noticeable.

꧁༺Answer༻꧂

F=m×a or a=F/m

Whenever a force acts on a body, it produces an acceleration in it. This acceleration is inversely proportional to the mass of a body.

The gravitational force of attraction produces acceleration in both the interacting bodies, but the acceleration experienced by the lighter body is much greater than that experienced by the heavier body.

In the apple-earth pair, the gravitational force produced a large acceleration in the apple(small mass) and an almost negligible acceleration in the earth(huge mass).As such, the displacement of the earth is almost zero.

Hence, the apple is seen moving towards the earth but the earth is not seen rising towards the apple.
