Given:

The earth attracts every object toward itself with a force.

To find:

  • The gravitational force exerted by earth on each of your family members.

  • The gravitational force exerted by each of the family member on Earth.

Calculation:

Let mass of one family member be m and mass of earth be M ;

Now , gravitational force is a mutual force which is dependent on the product of the masses.

Let's considerthat the family member is standing on the earth surface. So , we can consider the distance between the family member and the earth to be approximately equal to the radius of the earth.

 \boxed{ \sf{F =  \dfrac{GMm}{ {r}^{2} } }}

So , the family member exerts equal and opposite force on the earth as compared to the force exerted by earth on family member.
