The earth is a watery planet yet there is scarcity of water why?

because 0.3 % of water is fit for drinking and rest the water is salty and dirty or as glaciers.
this is the main reason of scarcity of water
also large chunk of people waste the water...

97%of the water is present in ocean which is alty nd unfit for drinking also the most of the remaining water is present as ice and hence inaccessible
