The earth is acted upon by the gravitation force of attraction due to the sun . then why does the earth not fall towards the sun

Answer:

Earth does not fall into Sun because earth keeps revolving around Sun. This creates a centripetal force that pulls earth away from the Sun. When this force is equal the gravitational attraction, earth becomes stable.
